Fame SC is labelled for both pink and grey snow mould and is an effective fall primer application in a Go-in-Clean program before your final snow mould treatment. The University of Wisconsin notes that “in areas where snow cover persists, one or two applications of an effective fungicide in the fall before snow cover can provide excellent disease control.”*

Applying Fame SC at 11.5 mL/100m ahead of the final snow mould application helps suppress disease activity before winter. For an optimal blend, tank-mix Fame SC at 11.5 mL/100 m with Signature XTRA Stressgard at 60 g or 120 g for a powerful inoculum knockdown.

The fight against snow mould begins in the fall when this pathogen starts to grow inoculum before symptoms appear. Combat fall Microdochium and Snow mould inoculum buildup, while ensuring your turf goes into winter clean and ready.

Timing is Key

Leverage the Heating Degree Days (HDD50F) model to enhance the timing of your “Go-in-Clean” applications. This model tracks temperature accumulation below 50°F (10°C) to guide the optimal timing for your Go-In-Clean applications. Research suggests applying 1-2 Go-In-Clean treatments, before your planned final snow mould application, provides the best protection. Phosphonates work best with a minimum of two applications, or use both products consecutively or combined for powerful knock down.

Using local weather data, TurfView calculates:

• RECOMMENDED first application zone when HDD = 1-25
• CRITICAL application or Second app when HDD = 25-75 (last chance for Go-In-Clean if you missed the recommended zone)
• Plan your FINAL snow mould application after reaching 100 HDDs or just before snow cover
